COLLECTIONS

PRE-FALL 2017

Rather than reissuing basics like many designers do, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia refreshed their shirting and deconstructed styles for Pre-Fall 2017. Complete with suiting dresses and oversize button-downs, this collection contained all of the styles that has gained Monse worldwide accolades as well as introduced new looks, such as their first "tuxedo" inspired dress. The label also introduced their first pair of jeans while continuing their modern eveningwear with satin suits, draped tops, and p ants in bold color combinations, including pink and green and pink and red.

BEHIND THE COLLECTION

PRE-FALL 2017

Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim unveiled their fall 2016 collection at the Highline Hotel to buyers and press, showcasing more shirts with an obvious sense of ease, as it had been one of the memorable highlights from their first collection. Playing with undone shirting, they kept with suiting-inspired looks, but added greater diversity with textures. This collection also earned them a nomination for the Swarovski Award for Womenswear at the CFDA Awards. With a relaxed, but glamorous aesthetic, the crossover between red carpet and ready-to-wear is looking incredibly strong.

M IS FOR... MONSE:
EASY TO WEAR

With plenty of bold colors and lots of polka dots and stripes, Laura Kim and Fernando Kim added modern, fresh twists to their already recognizable looks, including deconstructed shirting, reimagined dresses, oversized blouses, and now, denim.
